About

Benedict Patrick

AI engineer and researcher from Chennai, India. I design new model architectures, train my own models, and build the engines, chips and products around them.

I’m Benedict Patrick, Ben for short, and I go by bencodes online. I work across the whole AI stack: new architectures, training, inference engines, hardware and the products people actually use.

Core-1 is my ternary weight state space language model, built to run on ordinary CPUs. Cipheron is a small model I trained for secure code review, released on Hugging Face. Quanta Engine is an LLM inference engine I wrote from scratch in C++, and AT1 is an architecture study for a phone AI chip that computes beside its memory banks.

I also ship tools: securevibe and smartgrep are on npm, Navo runs a chat model inside a browser tab on WebGPU, and PyPhone Studio puts a real Python interpreter on your phone. I take on client work too, from custom models to full products.

Selective about projects. Ambitious about the ones I take: models, engines, and the tools around them.
